CEPS is a private equity investor with a handful of specialty businesses. Also known as Chelverton Equity Partners, CEPS buys majority stakes in stable, profitable, and growing entrepreneurial companies with strong management. Its Davies Odell business makes body armor, protective underwear, matting for equestrian and dairy use, and a range of footwear repair products. CEPS' Friedman's is a specialist textile importer. The company acquired Friedman's, an importer and distributor of Lycra materials used in dancewear and swimwear, in 2005. The company's Sunline Direct Mail unit is engaged in the the polythene wrapping of mail packs. CEPS, which was created in 2004, is looking to acquire new businesses in 2011.
