CIBA VISION is the eye care unit of Novartis. The company provides research and development and manufactures eyeglasses and contacts. CIBA VISION also offers lens care and ophthalmic surgical products and related services to customers in more than 70 countries. Its contact lens brands include AIR OPTIX, NIGHT & DAY, and DAILIES. The company's FreshLook line is a leader in the color contact lens market. CIBA VISION sold a couple of its soft contact lens lines -- Aquaflex and Softcon -- to a unit of Unilens Vision, which, as part of the agreement, pays CIBA VISION a royalty on certain sales through 2010.
