Hyundai Hysco is a leading producer of automotive steel sheet and pipe. Founded in 1975, Hysco manufactures cold-rolled steel products for cars, steel pipes used in industrial and petroleum operations, and tailor-welded blanks (advanced steel welded products used to improve fuel efficiency in vehicles). The company churns out about 14 million tons of steel each year, including 4 million tons of cold-rolled products. Hysco also operates two research and development centers engaged in the development of new steel technologies. Branch offices in the US, Slovakia, Japan, China, Malaysia, and India help market Hysco's steel products worldwide.
