Company Description
Rockwell Diamonds used to prefer copper, but perhaps understandably has turned toward diamonds. The company, which changed its name from Rockwell Ventures in 2007, now has established operations that yield high-value gemstone diamonds. It owns the Saxendrift, Holpan, and Klipdam properties in the Kimberley region of South Africa's Northern Cape Province. It also owns the Wouterspan property (adjacent to its Saxendrift operation), where it plans to construct a new processing plant in 2012. Rockwell acquired the Tirisano Mine project in the Venterdorp region of South Africa after purchasing stakes in Etruscan Diamonds and Blue Gum Diamonds (74%). The local Mogopa community owns 26% of Blue Gum Diamonds.
