Overview
Euroclear Bank is involved in the murky world of securities services. The world's largest International Central Securities Depository (ICSD), Euroclear Bank acts as a single access point to securities services in more than 25 equity markets and 30 bond markets worldwide. Clients are able to settle their cross-border equity transactions on markets such as the NASDAQ/OMX, Euronext, and the London Stock Exchange, in a single location. Euroclear Bank was originally established in 1971 to carry out settlement services for the Eurobond market and is a member of the Euroclear SA/NV family of companies. In 2008 Euroclear opened offices in China to improve service to clients in Asia.
