LG International Company Description
LG International is part of LG Group, one of the chaebol (industrial conglomerates) that long dominated South Korea's business landscape. LG International was originally formed to function as LG Group's import/export trading arm; in fact, sales of the group's finished machinery, electronics, and metals -- along with the import of raw materials and commodities -- still account for much of LG International's business. The company has expanded, however, into such fields as finance, engineering, construction, food processing and wholesaling, and apparel manufacturing. In addition to its LG Group affiliates, LG International partners with such companies as Gazprom, Intel, and Segway.
