Overview

SXC Health Solutions puts the "sexy" in prescription drug benefits. The company's pharmacy benefit management (PBM) software, called informedRx, manages and administers claims and offers cost control, Medicare Part D services, pharmacy network management, drug review and analysis, and reporting and information analysis. Customers include health plans such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield, managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, and retail pharmacy chains. Top customers Boston Medical Center and the state of Hawaii together account for about a quarter of revenue. SXC Health Solutions also owns a mail-order pharmacy and a specialty service pharmacy (Ascend SpecialtyRx).
